My brothers,

Thank you all for the great work you have put into maintaining and building our Masonic community throughout Denver.  Now that D5 will soon go dark for the summer months, we are planning a few social visits at other lodges who will stay open and give us the opportunity to enjoy their hospitality.

OUR COMMUNITY IN MASONRY

May brought about a lot of Masonic growth for some of our newer members.  Br. Canfield flew in just to give his EA proficiency and receive his FC degree, plus we gave out seven scholarships and heard an inspirational presentation from our Teacher of the Year.

As I write this, we just completed a special communication to pass Bros. Chase, Dustin, and Max to the degree of a Fellowcraft ahead of the Ghost Town Raising in June.  It has been so inspiring to see the work that our newer members are putting into their degrees, and I thank all the brothers and guests who took time out of their Saturday to make this special communication happen.

LOOKING FORWARD

It’s happening!  Masonica is fully funded, the building is reserved, speakers are booked, and tickets will go live soon.  Thank you to all who worked to make this a reality.

In the coming several weeks, we will continue executing on the theme of “Our Community in Masonry” in a variety of ways, notably including visits to other lodges that stay open over the summer.

June 4: Stated Communication

This is our last meeting before we go dark for the summer.  Open on the FC to hear proficiencies for any combination of Bros. Ardash, Chase, Max, and Dustin who are ready at that time and vote on their advancement.

  • LOCATION: Welton St. building.
  • ATTENDANCE: FC and above
  • ATTIRE: Casual
  • RSVP: JW Conner if you are not a regular attendee

June 11: Rehearsal for Ghost Town Raising

Only cast members participating in the first section at Ghost Town need to attend.

  • 7PM at Welton St., casual dress

June 13: Ghost Town Raising

This is a beautiful opportunity for our brothers to be raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason.

  • Assuming their FC proficiencies and the election are positive, Bros. Chase and Max are scheduled to get their MM degrees this morning, with an optional early dinner at 4pm and lectures to follow.
  • LOCATION: Nevada Lodge #4 (1043 Nevadaville Rd, Central City)
  • ATTENDANCE: MM (plus MM candidates)
  • ATTIRE: Business
  • RSVP: WB Jim Weekes

June 15: Social: The Morgan Affair

The 1826 disappearance of William Morgan was blamed on Freemasons and led to widespread anti-Masonic sentiment in the United States.  Illustrious Brother Maynard Edwards, 33º and member of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, is coming to Denver to provide a great education on that event.

  • LOCATION: Denver Consistory (1370 Grant St.)
  • ATTENDANCE: Open to the public
  • ATTIRE: Business
  • RSVP: None needed (unless you choose to partake of the optional dinner at 6PM for $25 advance reservation)

20 June: Social: D5 at Coors Field (Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies)

Enjoy some fellowship with your brothers, families, and friends.

  • LOCATION: Coors Field
  • ATTENDANCE: Open to the public.  Tickets are behind first base and are ~$30 each.
  • ATTIRE: Casual
  • RSVP: WM James.  If we get 5 RSVP’s James will buy the tickets in a block.

28 June: Social: All-Masonic Picnic

This is a great opportunity to meet brothers from across the fraternity, along with families and friends.

  • LOCATION: Ruby Hill Park (1600 W. Mexico St.) 9AM to 4PM, enter from the west and we will be at the pavilion on the south side of the parking lot.
  • ATTENDANCE: Open to the public

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

All of our brothers, EA and above, are welcome to join our GroupMe chat to socialize and stay updated on lodge events. Use THIS LINK or the QR code below to join our social group.

Also, please know that we are keeping the Mori calendar up to date as well, so you can also bookmark THIS LINK to see what we have planned in each of our meetings.

And finally, please note that the Pavilions garage has changed how they charge for parking.  Gone are the days of scanning paper parking tickets; the garage now scans your license plate and you have to pay through their app (HERE).  After some confusion, the new price appears to be $8, and members will still be reimbursed for parking for lodge meetings.
