Greetings from the East!
I’m constantly amazed at how quickly time flies when sitting in the East. As the air turns crisp and the leaves give one last burst of color before they fall it becomes apparent that the year is winding down. Drawing inspiration from the harvest, this is the perfect time to look back and be thankful for the work and progress we’ve made in our Lodge, in our families, and within ourselves.
Thanksgiving gives us the perfect opportunity to focus on gratitude, a value cherished among all Masons. Just as the Masons of old gave thanks for the working tools and resources for their craft, we too should be grateful for the tools and resources we’ve been given. Gratitude keeps us humble and reminds us that no Mason builds alone.
In Lodge, we work together not because we share the same background or beliefs, but because we share the bond of brotherly love. As we gather around the table this month with family and friends, let’s show gratitude for the support they also have given us for our work. It’s the values like gratitude that define our fraternity as a whole and us as men individually.
